collaborative action,

2. benchmark the healthy development of Vancouver Island children at the
local & regional level and

3. initiate a regional voice supporting innovation for the early years.

Background: How are young children doing on Vancouver Island? In
responding to this question, representatives from a variety of
organizations involved in ECD determined that a project would be
developed to strengthen the accessibility and usability of relevant data
for early years community planners.

An advisory committee of representatives was established to plan the
development of the project. This committee includes: Liana Zimmer
(PHAC), Julia Rose (MCFD), Joanne Schroeder (HELP), Jan  Tatlock (VIHA)
and Elizabeth Pennell (SD68/Early Years Network).

Project Parters include: Public Health Agency of Canada, Ministry of
Children and Family Development, Human Early Learning Partnership,
Vancouver Island Health Authority and The Vancouver Island Early Years
Network (school districts)
